Gibraltar's Futsal Squad Ready for One Final Test at the World Cup Qualifiers

Faced with freezing conditions in the middle of a Latvian winter, Gibraltar's National Futsal Team are ready for one last Herculean effort in Group A of the FIFA Futsal World Cup Qualifiers.

Tomorrow at 1pm they take on Cyprus in the last of their three games in the Latvian capital of Riga.

The first two games have seen them go through a rollercoaster of emotions. 2-1 down to England at half time ultimately turned into a 4-1 defeat at the final whistle. England may have dominated the game but in all fairness the 4-1 result slightly flattered the English.

Then in Gibraltar's second qualifier, against the Group hosts Latvia, in front of a partisan home crowd, Gibraltar were blitzed. 9-0 thanks to 6 second half goals.

Despite the scoreline Gibraltar's Futsal squad remain upbeat. They are ready for one last huge effort tomorrow against Cyprus. the Cypriots have had mixed fortunes in the tournament so far losing 5-4 to England and drawing 0-0 with Latvia.

So one last push, one last effort for our boys in Latvia. Whatever the outcome one thing is guaranteed, they will be giving everything they have got for their country, wearing their Gibraltar colours with pride.
