Forfeit of matches

The Gibraltar FA is extremely disappointed to note that two Clubs - Boca Juniors (Gibraltar) FC of the First Division and Europa Point FC of the Second Division - have forfeited their league matches this weekend as a result of their failure to have the required minimum number of Home Grown Players available.

The GFA takes a very serious view on this matter and disciplinary proceedings will immediately be launched against both Clubs.

The GFA is fully committed to the Home Grown Player Rule and to the development of Gibraltarian footballers and is sure that going forward the HGP Rule will be respected and adhered to by all our 17 member Clubs. Any failure to do so in future may result in even stricter sanctions being imposed, including the possible expulsion of Clubs from GFA membership and competitions.
