Gibraltar Special Olympics Football Team win Silver in Italy

Gibraltar's Special Olympics Football Team have, once again, made the whole of our country proud, by winning the Silver medal in the football tournament at the XXXIII Special Olympics Games for inclusion in Italy.

Speaking from Italy, Andrew Ramage gave us this update on the tournament:

After a great tournament Special Olympics Gibraltar made it through to the final of the B division group of the 5-a-side football tournament in La Spezia, Italy on Thursday against Malta who they had previously beaten in the round robin stages.

The team did their best and played with great  determination, even with the absence of Sam Hook who had had a great tournament so far,  but ended up losing 1 - 0.

Gibraltar bring home the silver medal which is a great achievement of which the players and coaching team are very proud.

As always, everyone at the Gibraltar FA and the whole of the Gibraltarian Football Family is immensely proud of their achievements and once again they have shown what great ambassadors the are for all of Gibraltar.
