e-Sports First Division - Matchday Two Highlights

There seemed to be a recurring theme throughout Matchday 2 of the e-Sports First Division – draws! More specifically, 2-2 draws! Out of 5 games, only 2 teams could make the breakthrough and take home the vital 3 points with a further 3 games ending honours even. A second league victory for Glacis saw them leapfrog Lions into first place in what looks to be a tightly contended division.

Here’s the lowdown on all the action..

Gibraltar Phoenix FC eSports 2-2 Europa FC eSports

Europa broke Phoenix hearts after leaving it late to net a 90th minute equalizer! After dominating play for the majority of the game, the home side took the lead twice in each half only for Europa to match their efforts and come away with a point.

Goals: J.JaviRef (8'; 1-0); Java (11'; 1-1); Javie_M (63'; 2-1); migu3gr (90'; 2-2)

Gibraltar United eSport 2-2 Lincoln Red Imps FC eSports

The home side reacted to Lincoln’s early goal by getting a goal back inside 10 minutes. Gibraltar Utd went on to show their superiority in the first half but failed to get a second goal to show for it. The away side turned the game on it’s head to go 1-2 up however their lead was short lived as Gibraltar Utd pulled it back to 2-2 just minutes later. Both teams fought for a winner yet neither got to go home with the spoils.

Goals: Heisenberg (3'; 0-1); JANE (10'; 1-1); Peluso (58'; 2-1); Rui (61'; 2-2)

Manchester 62 FC eSports 1-2 Glacis United eSports

Both teams saved their goal scoring prowess for the second period of the game after playing out a first half that lacked any real action. After going one down to the home side, Glacis scored 2 goals in less than 10 minutes to make it 1-2 to the visitors with just over 10 minutes to go. With the clock ticking down, Man 62 tried to force their way to a second but Glacis held on to claim their first win of the competition.

Goals: Tshabalala (45'; 1-0); Prawn Tart (71'; 1-1); Chubaca (79'; 1-2)

St. Joseph’s FC eSports 2 – 1 Lynx FC eSports

A good performance from a dominant St. Joseph’s guided the home outfit to their first win of the season. Even though Lynx managed to get on the scoreboard, it was too little too late for the away team whose goal served only as a consolation.

Goals: Danigool (7'; 1-0); Danigool (31'; 2-0); ALGEesDE3VFO (86'; 2-1)

Mons Calpe SC eSports 2-2 Lions Gibraltar FC eSports

Mons Calpe and Lions played out an exciting 2-2 draw in what was an eventful 90 minutes. Two goals within the first half an hour put the home side firmly in the driving seat, however Lions weren’t to be outdone and managed to get a goal either side of half time to ensure both teams went home with a point.

Goals: Fran (16'; 1-0); HU xSilees (24'; 2-0); AlberTOP (45'; 2-1); Angeliño (own goal) (58'; 2-2)
