Europa FC League Champions

For the first time in 14 years, Gibraltar has new league Champions. Europa FC, on the final day of the season, secured their first league win in their 'modern' era,

A 2-0 win over Glacis United, thanks to goals from Gibraltar International Liam Walker and First Division Top Scorer Enrique Gomez 'Kike', was enough to secure the title, by a solitary point, over Lincoln Red Imps FC who fought valiantly, right up the the final minute of the final round of fixtures to attempt to secure what would have been an unprecedented 15th consecutive league title.

Europa FC number 9 'Kike' finished the league season as top scorer with 30 goals in the First Division season. His closest challenger was Lincoln left back Joseph Chipolina who remarkably once again hit well into double figures, scoring 17 for the season.

All eyes now turn to the Gibtelecom Rock Cup Final, next Sunday, between Lincoln Red Imps FC & Europa FC with the latter looking to complete a domestic clean sweep of silver-wear this season.
