17 Candidates begin 1st ever UEFA 'B' License Coaching Course held in Gibraltar

This weekend saw the first ever UEFA 'B' License Coaching Course delivered in Gibraltar.

As part of the Gibraltar Football Assoication's Coaching partnership with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) and the Welsh Football Trust (WFT), two tutors Gareth Owen and Guy Hansdcombe, from the WFT were in Gibraltar on Saturday an Sunday to oversee the first section of the WFT/GFA UEFA 'B' License Course which saw 17 candidates begin the Course.

Previously Gibraltarian candidates had to travel abroad to attain these types of coaching qualifications which are so essential to the development and progression of a Football Coach's long term career.

The 'B' License is the first step onto the UEFA Coaching ladder and is aimed at developing the Coach's all round skills and tactical knowledge based around a combination practical sessions and 'off course' theory sessions.

With two more sessions to come, it is envisaged that the first set of UEFA 'B' License graduates to have been assessed in Gibraltar will be in Mid November 2017.
