Gibraltar National Team players paid a very special festive visit to young patients in the Rainbow Ward at St Bernard’s Hospital today.

Gibraltar Captain Roy Chipolina alongside Lee Casciaro, Liam Walker, Andrew Hernandez, Anthony Hernandez and Mohamed Badr were delighted to be able to help raise spirits during the Christmas period and spread some Christmas cheer handing out Gibraltar themed gift bags including shirts, tracksuits, scarves, a Pro Evolution 2020 PlayStation game and other merchandise.

Seeing all of the children with smiles on their faces and being able to spread some happiness at this time of the year was a very humbling moment for the players as they able to spend time talking about their footballing experiences with all the children.

Roy Chipolina said: “I think it’s extremely important that we, as footballers, are able to make as many people smile as we possibly can. Christmas is a time of the year when this is especially important and it is an incredibly humbling experience to be able to visit Rainbow Ward, meet the kids and see their faces light up when talking to them about football. Handing out gifts, seeing the children smile is a huge privilege and hopefully we have been able to make their Christmas that little bit better.”

The Gibraltar Football Association would like to thank the Minister for Health, Mr Paul Balban MP, and the Gibraltar Health Authority for welcoming the players at St Bernard’s Hospital today.
