The GFA held a Girls’ Summer Camp from 19th-21stAugust at the Victoria Stadium.
Over 40 girls aged 4-12 attended the camp over the week and for some it was their first time playing football. The aim of the camp was to let the players develop their football skills in a fun environment while making friends and being able to “Play without Pressure”.
Laura McGinn, GFA Women’s Football Manager was delighted with how the camp went commenting:
“It’s been fantastic to see so many girls here this week enjoying playing football. Our coaches have done a great job of encouraging and helping the girls to improve and it’s been a great atmosphere”
As well as running ‘Fun Friday’ sessions throughout the season for girls to turn up and play, The GFA is starting new girls’ development teams that will take part in the Youth Leagues from September. Any girls interested in joining the teams or attending the sessions can contact Laura McGinn for more details firstname.lastname@example.org or +350 58007172.
