Gibraltar Men’s and Women’s Futsal squads travelled to Northern Ireland last weekend to play a series of international friendlies.
On Friday afternoon it was the women’s team that got the weekend of matches underway but found themselves 4-0 down at half time. A much improved second half performance including a goal from Joelle Gilbert meant that the match finished 5-1. It was then the turn of the men’s team with Naoufal El Andaloussi scoring Gibraltar’s only goal in an 8-1 defeat.
On Saturday the women’s team played again, with a much stronger performance than the previous day. Despite this the Northern Ireland team were more clinical and came out on top as 4-0 winners.
The men’s team played their second match of the weekend on Sunday morning and ended the trip on a positive note with an excellent 4-3 victory. A goal from Jaydan Parody, two from Nicholas Castle and an own goal secured the win for the team.
