The Gibraltar FA was delighted to be able to welcome over a thousand school children to the Victoria Stadium, this afternoon, to watch Gibraltar’s U21 National team in their latest UEFA U21 Championship Qualifier against Moldova.

Children from Bayside and Westside Comprehensives and Bishop Fitzgerald, St Joseph’s Upper primary schools all braved the elements to make their way to the Victoria Stadium, with each school having its own designated area within the stands at the stadium to watch the match.

As kick off approached the rain clouds slowly disappeared and the school children aided by their teachers were able to enjoy them match, with the sun even making an appearance for the majority of the second half.

Despite the score line, (Gibraltar’s Under 21’s losing 4-0 to Moldova’s U21’s) the children sung their hearts out for the whole match showing their national pride by passionately singing the national anthem before the kick off.

The Gibraltar FA would like to sincerely thank everyone at the Department of Education and each of the individual schools, and all of the Teachers and Assistants for their huge effort in making this event possible and for braving the elements before kick off.
