Gibraltar's U16s returned from their UEFA Development Tournament in Bosnia & Herzegovina with plenty of positives despite losing all three of their fixtures in Zenica.
They opened the tournament against Montenegro losing the game 2-0. The second fixture saw them go down 3-0 to the hosts Bosnia & Herzegovina and in the final game they lost 2-0 to Armenia.
Despite the results there was plenty for Head Coach Jonathan Sodi and Assistant Peter Moreno to take from the week in Bosnia as they step up their preparations for the U17 European Qualifiers in the Autumn.
As is the case at all UEFA Development Tournaments, players are actively encouraged to keep up to sate with their school work and studies, whilst representing their country.
Another important aspect of UEFA Development Tournaments is learning about the hostory and culture of the host nation/city in the down time the players and staff have avaialble to them. Understanding where you are playing, who you are playing is a key part of international football. Our U16s were taken around Sarajevo - a city steeped in recent history.
The Gibraltar Squad also got the chance to train at Zenica's International Stadium where Bosnia & Herzegovina play the majority of their full International fixtures, and indeed played Gibraltar there in the recent World Cup Qualifiers.
