Gibraltar’s U19’s Women’s squad have been undertaking ‘leadership and training’ sessions by the Royal Gibraltar Regiment in preparation for their upcoming UEFA Women’s U19’s Championship Qualifiers next week.

Completing six total sessions spanning over two weeks across Devil’s Tower Camp (DTC), Buffadero Training Camp and HM Naval Base. The squad have been put through their paces, taking part in a mix of physical and mental enhancing sessions.

Whilst under close supervision by the Regiment’s B Company and HQBF’s Joint Physical Development Unit, the players took part in a range of academy training. These sessions included things such as Army Leadership Training, Individual Physical Training and Team sessions amongst others.

Scott Wiseman, Women’s Football Development Manager for the GFA said: “Leadership training empowers athletes to make strategic decisions under pressure, enabling them to adapt to changing game situations and exploit opponents’ weaknesses effectively.

Well-prepared leaders are more likely to maintain a cool head and make wise choices that maximise their team’s chances of success.”

The second round of the qualifiers will take place between the 2nd and 8th of April at the Victoria Stadium, with Gibraltar set to play three matches against Kosovo, Israel and Luxembourg respectively.
